The
California Employment Training Panel (ETP) provides
funding for Latino businesses to develop a competitive
workforce. The Panel reimburses employers for
training costs.
The ETP gives priority to training programs that:
•
Result in the growth of the California economy
by stimulating exports from the State, and the
production of goods and services that would otherwise
be imported from outside the State
•
Train new employees of firms locating or expanding
in the State that provide highly skilled, high-wage
earners, and are committed to an ongoing investment
in the training of frontline workers
•
Develop workers with skills that prepare them
for the challenges of a high performance workplace
Those
who are eligible to contract with ETP for training
funding include:
•
For-profit employers covered by the Unemployment
Insurance system
•
Non-profit employers who pay the employment training
tax
•
Organizations and agencies with successful track
records
•
Workforce Investment Boards (WIB)
